Welcome to Winter 2009
According
to the Chinese Lunar system, November 7th is
the first day of winter this year. The primary element of this season
is Water, which is associated with the Reproductive System,
the Kidneys and the Urinary Bladder.
The
winter season of a year is comparable to the nighttime of a day.
It’s a time for rejuvenation, calm and quiet. It’s an opportunity
to take care of one’s body, mind and spirit. How you take care of yourself
in the winter sets the foundation for how you’ll function
throughout the next year.
From now until February 4, 2010, we invite you to nurture yourself by including the following practices in your daily routine:
*In
the mornings when the weather is cold or you feel cool, take
6 Chill Free capsules (please ask the front desk for this herb).
*Eat more warm temperature and energetically warming foods.
*Wear socks throughout the day and night.
*Wear a hat when outside (more than 70% of your body heat
escapes out the top of your head!).
*Practice Energetic Breathing, also known as Reverse Breathing, by sucking in
your abdomen while you inhale and letting out your abdomen while you exhale.
This will benefit by circulating energy through your body’s
entire acupuncture meridian system.
Warm
wishes to you in this new season!
Thank you for sharing your journey of well-being with us.
Smile!!!
